LADIES, PAPER AND LACE!

Hello my dear Pinkies! Hope you are all having a great weekend. I have had the weirdest thing happen to me this week. (The story of my life!) I had 6 comments made on my blog, a whole two years ago, that were written in Chinese. Not being very computer savvy or savvy period, I just thought someone was following my blog who was Chinese. How nice! I left the comments, not thinking anything about them. It turns out, those Chinese comments were ladies selling themselves on my blog! Here I am, thinking how nice, a new follower, totally clueless! Google, picked it out some two years later! What are you doing Martha, they ask? I don't know, I answered. You can't just call Google and ask them what the problem is. No, that would be too easy! You have to go to their help page. There others who are so much smarter than I, will try to help you. These kind people who helped me, tried to explain to this not so sharp lady, what she is doing wrong. It took a while but, I think they finally figured out how to get me out of this problem. So, needless to say, I think I closed my "shop". Please pray that Google does not cancel my blog because I have violated their rules. Lesson learned, do not leave comments on your blog if you do not understand them. It is better to hurt that person's feelings that to try to fix the problem later. Amen! Has this ever happened to any one else? Or am I just lucky?

Moving on, I was at a scrapbook store today with my dearest friend and was amazed at all the new things that scrap bookers have to work with. I have not been scrapbooking for a few months. At Christmas time I was in a state of panic because I had a scrapbook I needed to finish. (I did finished, with 2 days to spare!) It brought back the "scrapbooking bug"! Once again, I have a desire to scrap. When one decides to start scrapbooking again, what do we need? That's right PAPER!

So today, I went to scrapbook heaven! Here are some of the beautiful papers I found. I don't know why this craft is so expensive. It is just paper! It seems there is always a new "tool" you just can't live without. Did I ever tell you I collect paper and vintage lace? Well, you guessed it! As a "Serial Collector", my problem is with paper and vintage laces. I never met a piece of beautiful paper, I didn't love. We won't even talk about vintage lace! I just wanted to show you what I purchased. (I know, I have a "paper problem".)

I have so many scrapbooks I need to finish, I just need to decide where to start. I think I am only about 7 years behind schedule. Could be worst! This year, I will finish one more book for a family member or friend. That is my goal. Notice all the pretty pink paper I found! Lovely! Have a wonderful weekend! Don't forget about my give away. Details on December 31st post! See you on Tea Cup Tuesday! Hugs, Martha

By the way, thanks for praying for me. I did that hard thing, I told you about and felt good immediately!

That was an awful experience for you, BUT I don't know how they could hold you responsible. Just erase those comments and BAN the person.
I LOVE all your goodies for scrapbooking, WHERE WERE these things when I was making my baby books some 30something years ago... We didn't have all these wonderful things... I had to "Use only my imagination" and we didn't have the printers, etc we have now either.... UGH!!!
Thanks for sharing all this,
Hugs to you,
Donna

Happy Pink Saturday Martha, Oh my you and I don't need to shop for paper together then as I have enough paper and tools to open a store. I have the paper addiction too. This last year I completed 2 scrapbooks one for each of 2 of my Granddaughters and that is about all I can get done in a year. I used to go to crops every Friday night and half of Saturday for about 3 yrs until one by one went out of business. I hated to see them go and the fellowship with all the gals from all over, but things never stay the same so now I scrap at home, however I completed many more projects when I went to crops. Keep sharing paper and I'll have to go on the hunt again! Pink Hugs Marilou

Martha, I am sorry to hear you had such an ordeal with the comments from China, also with Google...Though my blog is very new, I have already had a few comments that Wordpress caught as 'spam'. On three separate ocassions the comments in question were put into my spam file where I was able to look it over.

One was from China...it was a legitimate question about something on my blog, but the email address of the sender was a "hello" instead of a name. Wordpress thought that to be suspicious, and on further investigation they were correct. So I handled that one by answering the comment as a post, but deleting the actual comment. The other two were from Russia, very suspicious so I just deleted them.

Like you, I don't like to hurt anyone's feelings, but today, with so many people using there time and brain power to think of ways to hurt the world instead of to heal it, you have to be careful.

All you ladies have such a wonderful supply of crafty goodies. I need to build my supply back up; paints, accessories, etc.

Take care, and may your blog be blessed.
Marianne

Hello dear Martha,
What an awful experience! I always delete anything that looks suspicious. I have actually closed down one of my blogs because of crude Japanese or Chinese comments I was receiving. God bless you! Love all your pretty papers! Happy Pink Saturday weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

Hi Martha, I've had those Chinese comments. It took me a little while, but I realized that there was always one word in English - sex. That was red flag to me and I deleted all of them.

I get my comments sent to me via email, so I can keep on top of any questionable ones. I think Google's new spam process will help with that in the future. Oh, and I noticed that the Chinese comments were always left on older posts, where they thought they might be hidden from my view. I have fixed my settings so that comments made on any post older than 5 days are sent to me for approval.

I don't think Google can hold you responsible for comments - your content is totally unobjectionable, wonderful, in fact.

xo

Astonishing what a little prayer can do ... glad you are 'up'. Never touch/open anything suspicious or oriental usually they are trash or harmful.

Love your scraping materials ... dying to see what you do with them all.

Have a lovely PS weekend.

Marydon

Oh Martha, I am sorry, but I had to laugh. I also have to wonder, because I have had a comment or two that was chinese. I just deleted them because I figured if I can't read them, no one else can either. Now I have to wonder what they said? I am sure you are safe, how could you have known? Great scrapbooking papers. Happy Pink Saturday, Char

eeek! Thanks for filling us in. What a shame people are out there just to hurt innocent others.

It seems like if you explained it to a google rep they'd understand. Or maybe I'm now being the naive one!

All your scapbook paper is amazing! There is so much out there these days. And it is all really lovely.
I have never had a Chineese comment before, now I will think about it differently.
I hope Google goes easy on you. Surely they can figure out that you had no idea what they were saying.
I hope you are having a great weekend. I look forward to next weeks T.T.
Hugs,
Terri
