CELEBRATING FAMILY & TEA CUPS

Hello Ladies: Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday, No. 73! Hope you all had a wonderful week and looking forward to sharing all your beautiful tea cups. My week was non-stop, ending with a visit to the San Diego Zoo with the Grandchildren. I am exhausted, but it was worth it just to see their happy faces. Both children got their face painted, which was the highlight of the Zoo trip for them. It was the first time in years that our entire grow up children were able to vacation together. I was so happy that we could do that. The last picture on this post is of my three grown children.

This week I am sharing tea cups I have not shown you before, I think! Like I said, I am getting ready for a rather large tea party for my daughter. Every table is going to be a different color so I am looking at my whole tea cup collection. I have tea cups I have forgotten about, so it has been fun to do this. The first cup I am going to show you is a green depression glass. I love the shape of the cup and the delicate design on the glass.

The second cup is Old Ivory, Syracuse China, the "Coralbel Pattern." It has a real 50's look. It is trimmed in platinum and is American made. Older American made tea cups were commonly trimmed in platinum.

My next tea cup is a vintage Coalport, Bouillon Soup Cup & Saucer. The pattern name is "Indian Tree". It has a scallop edges, although because of the pattern it is hard to see. Very Old World looking. I have this in a regular tea cup, but I just love the way this Bouillon Cup looks.

This last cup is a Royal Worcester, the Blind Earl, raised design cup and saucer. The colors on this cup are amazing. Just look at the saucer! I wish I had more, but they are so expensive. I can't remember when or where I purchased this. This cup is one of my favorites of all time.

Did I ever tell you I collect vintage, hand painted, Tole Trays? Well I do, I have them all over the house. Here are a few I have gathered for you to look at.

Here is Mr. Linky. Please visit Terri to see what she has brought back for her wonderful vacation. I am excited to see her treasures.

As promised, a picture of all my children. Thank you so much for your faithfulness to this party. Each week is more wonderful than the last. Please don't forget to take a peek at my website. A preview is on the slide show at the top of the blog.

They are so beautiful, inside and out! Have a great week. Hugs, Martha

TREASURE HUNTING MY NATURAL TALENT!

Hello Ladies! Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday No 72. I am so sorry about last week's Mr. Linky, I really not sure what happened. I am sure it will be better this week. I hope you are all having a great week. I have some new cups to show you this week. I tend to get stuck on certain cups I love and forget all about others. I am getting ready for a large tea party so, I am sure you will be seeing cups that I have not shown you before.

My week is very full so I am writing this on Sunday. For you Scrap Book ladies in Southern California, I have joined the yearly Shop Hop. This year plans to be extra fun. I was a part of it last year and it was amazing. If you are a Scrapper at all, look for it at your nearest Scrapbooking store, who knows we might just meet! Worth the $12 to join, you get so many perks, not to mention the fun. Here I am with Johnny! Can life get better?

Now for this week's beauties! My first cup is this stunning cream color Florentine, by Royal Ducal. This cup has an embossed floral and fruit design. It is so classy looking. I have quite a collection of cream or white cups. Totally forgot about them until recently. I will post all white next week and share them with you. I have two of these, one I am putting on my Website.

The next cup is a Shelley. The pattern name is "Heather". It doesn't look like a Shelley does it? Interesting cup, I am not sure how well I like it. I picked it up at a Thrift Store for $1.49. How could I resist? A woman has to do what she has to do! I just had to buy it! I looked it up on Ebay and it is listed for $58. Not a bad deal.

Cup No. 3 is a Sadler. I didn't even know Sadler made tea cups. I knew about Tea Pots because I have a collection of them, but tea cups was news to me. I love the shape of this cup. It works great for coffee too!

Last but not least, is this Queen Anne, pattern name "Nottingham Lace". I grow Bearded Iris so this one caught my eye. The prettiest part of this cup is the gray lace it has on the background.

Well, here is this week's Mr. Linky. I do thank you for your faithfulness once again. I have taken a few pictures of the new "color" in my home now. I have been working very hard at thinning things out around my home. This is my problem, OK, I am confessing I have a problem. I only buy things I really love, so selling them gets a little tough for me. (Is that a Hoarder statement?) Oh, no!

Be happy and don't forget to visit the Traveling "Terri", who know what wonderful treasures she has in store for us. Oh, and don't forget to visit my website please!

Hugs, Martha

GORGEOUS DAINTY PINK TEA CUPS!

Hello Ladies: Welcome to our 71st Tea Cup Tuesday! Wasn't this week's party a lot of fun? I am not even halfway through visiting. "Where Woman Create" is amazing! I can't believe some of the beautiful places I have visited so far. I saw a lot of very good ideas I am going to use in my craft room. When I visited Holly, http://hollylovesart.blogspot.com/, it felt like home. When I visit Rebecca, http://rebecca-gatheryeroses.blogspot.com/, well her room is just a pink dream. You have to stop by and see how she stores her vintage lace. It is just amazing! I look forward to visiting more of your lovely rooms.

I remembered today, I promised to show you some of my cameo collection. (I bet you thought I forgot.) I am scattering them throughout this post. They are so much fun to collect and great to use as decoration. Of course, they are also fun to wear! Since I collect ladies of all types, cameos fit in just right!

With lovely in mind, I am showing you a few of my very dainty tea cups this week. I am starting with this vintage, Staffordshire, Myott. I think this pattern is still made today. It is just as beautiful as ever. I love the pinks on this plate. When I look at these cups, I can't make up my mind if I prefer soft colors or more of the vivid colors. so, I do both! You can see all those colors throughout my home. I just can't make up my mind, which I enjoy the most.

The next cup is a Coal Port. It is called "Junetime". This cup has all the vivid colors I just love. I am especially found of the scalloped edges.

This next cup is also a Coal Port. It is so delicate and I love the coffee can shape. It is as beautiful in person as it is in these pictures.

Last but not least, by any means is this pink and blue cup. It is made by "EW" and was handpainted. I wish I knew what the EW stands for. It is also a numbered cup. My guess is that it is EW Princess, Made in Japan. Not so sure, but the cup is very pretty.

I have to share about the "Sweet Home Alabama" song. It is my ringtone on my son's phone. When his friends hear it, they know that have to turn down the music in his back house. I have no idea why he picked that song, but one ring and the music always comes down quickly. I was just thinking I have not had to "call" in a few weeks. Oh, I wish you could hear Noah sing it! He talks and sings with a little Southern accent. Why a Mexican would have a Southern accent, only God knows!

Our Mr. Linky is coming to us once again from England, as our Terri tours the land. Thank you for your faithfulness to this party. It seems that it gets more amazing each week. I love how new Tea Cup lovers join us each week. Please don't forget to visit my website, I have added a lot of fun things. Have a great week. Hugs, Martha

WHERE BLOGGERS CREATE - 2011

Hi Ladies: I have been so excited about this party. I feel like I have come such a long way, Baby! When I first heard about this party three years ago, I had my crafts in every nook and corner of my home. From closets, to under every bed available, wash room, bathroom, laundry room, you name it, my crafts were everywhere.

My Desert Cottage

The following year, a room became free! My son move into the rear house. Could the room really be mine? Would someone else claim it? Before anyone could say "craft room", I moved in. I didn't do a thing as far as the room color or anything else. The first thing on my mind was to put my things in the room. I tried to work when no one was looking (still afraid someone would "need it".) I lived and created happily in the room for a whole year before, I finally was sure, the room was not going to be used for something more important.

I even join the party last year, happy to claim that ugly, football, green room as mine. That party however, changed my life! I visited all those beautiful craft rooms and fell in love with them. So I made the executive descision, I was going to have not just a craft room, but something beautiful that was so organized I could happily open any drawer or cabinet and share all the goodies that had been hidden for years.

I started by painting the room the palest of pinks! (Any of you that have followed my blog know that I think Pink, needs it's own holiday!) Taking that awful football green off the walls and watching the pink go up, change everything. Now it was time to find beautiful jars to display laces, antique tins for buttons. A pretty garden fence to display my paper. I found glass cabinet knobs for the closets, shelves were created. A large antique table was placed in the room for me to work on. A dream had come true!

In this room I can fill it to the brim and no one calls me a "Hoarder". In this room ladies just say, "I wish I had a room like this." It is constantly evolving, as my knowledge of different crafts change. I am currently into making cards. The tags you see on the table are an invitations to my daughter's baby shower. I only have 40 more to go. I can't wait to see how this year's party will change my life. Enjoy your visit to my secret place of muse. A place where I can be as scattered and free as the art it's self!

I was going to show you in side the closets, but I don't want you to think I am a "Hoarder". I am just a "Serial Collector" on the EDGE!

Have a great time! Party on! Hugs, Martha
