TEA CUP TUESDAY IN TRANSITIONS!

Hello Ladies:  Welcome to Tea cup Tuesday No. 193!  Transition week for all of us. It looks like I may not make the mark of finishing Christmas shopping by the end of November.  I am not a big "Black Friday" gal.  My family on the other hand, those crazy ladies, look forward to it all year. As we prepare our tables and plan our meals for Thanksgiving, I do want to stop and thank God for all the wonderful blessings He has given my family. Our family has been so blessed this year.  My husband's health has begun to improve, my son got hired as a fireman, both daughters have beautiful healthy children, we love so much.  I have a Mother and Father-in-Law  in great health.  Really God has been good to us.  We truly have so much to thank God for. I also thank God for the wonderful friends I have made these past years on this little blog.  You have changed my life for the better.

This week I want to show you a couple of Christmas Tea cups.  Yes, I am excited that we will be sharing Christmas tea cups and decor.  The first tea cup I am sharing is called "Cup of Christmas Tea".  I have the tea pot and sugar & creamers to this cup.  They have not come out of storage yet.  Not the most expensive tea set around, but it says "Merry Christmas" with every sip of tea you have.

My next cup is a Copeland, Spode, Christmas Tea Cup.  A common pattern, it  says Christmas  like nothing else.

I know most of you are getting ready for Thanksgiving, with family and enough food to feed an army. Next week begins the first of many Christmas Parties, for me. Before we hit the ground running, let's remember, first that "people are more important and things" and second "as Christians, we are called to walk in forgiveness."  Two simple rules that will make your holidays a blessing.  I have received a few emails from ladies who are really struggling with hard things in their lives right now.  I  know I did last year, if you want me to pray for you, please email me and I will be happy to do that for you.  Your prayer request of course will be kept confidential.  My email address is  marthasfavorites@aol.com.

This weekend, I had a blast with my Grandchildren.  Princess Maya, was perfect, always letting us in on family secrets!  Noah was "active and active, (did I say active?") and Sophia was happy just singing to herself out loud in the restaurant.  It was so much fun. The ice cream was the best! Our family was also a part of Christian Life Church Ground Breaking.  Don't we just look so important?  Don't tell anyone, but we took the picture after the Mayor and others left.  Too fun!

Wishing you the best Thanksgiving you have ever had. Thank you for your faithfulness to this party.  Both Terri and I so appreciated and love you.

Hugs, Martha

WE HAVE A WINNER OF THE TEA CUP!

Hello Ladies!  Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday No. 192!  As I visited your wonderful blogs last week, I have noticed many of you have Thanksgiving Decor and some have Christmas Decor up in your homes.  For ladies like me, it takes a long time to get my home ready for the holidays.  This is my favorite time of year and I like to have it up as long as I can.  So I said all that to say, my home is half Thanksgiving and the beginning of Christmas Decor.  My Grandchildren are just not sure what holiday I am getting ready for.  I don't know about you, but my calendar gets very full for the Holidays and I don't want to miss a thing!

Before I start sharing cups, I want to tell you a funny story.  I call it "Love Hurts!"  My Sophia spent the night this weekend.  As we are getting ready for bed, she leans over to give me a big hug.  We both miss judged the incoming embrace and her head hit my front teeth.  I was sure I was going to lose my tooth.  Luckly my son was home and he assured me that I was just going to have a fat lip.  I was trying not to cry because it hurt so much.  I did not want to make Sophia feel bad, who's only remark was "ouch".  She was just trying to give her Grandma a big hug.  My lips got huge and they were so tender to the touch. Between having a bag of ice on and off my lips, Sophia kept kissing me on the lips, because she thought I was puckering up for a big fat kiss, when in reality my lips were just getting bigger. How could I say no?  Oh the pain!  This picture only shows it at the first stage of swelling.

I am sharing red cups this week, with the first one being a Royal Stafford from England.  I just love the deep red color of this cup.  It is so beautiful.

Cup No. 2 is a Royal Grafton from England as well.  It has the same shape as the Stafford.  The hot pink rose is just a surprise in the middle.

The last cup is a Carlton Ware, also English. Carlton Ware is one of my favorite manufactures.  Everything they make is so delicate, this cup is no exception.

I am pleased to announce we have a winner of the tea cup.  Congratulations to Karen of  Karen's Cottage and Castle.  Please email me with your address and I will send it to you. Thank you to all who have followed my blog so faithfully.

Noah and Mommy enjoying a Mother - Son Dance at school.  Once again here is the link with fingers crossed. Have a wonderful week!    Hugs, Martha
JUST HEARD FROM TERRI.  HER FRIEND HAS LOST HER SON.  TERRI WILL NOT BE POSTING THIS WEEK.  PLEASE PRAY FOR ADAM AND THE FAMILY.  I ALSO ASK THAT YOU PRAY FOR TERRI, THAT GOD WOULD GIVE HER THE WORDS TO MINISTER COMFORT TO HER FRIENDS!

MUST LOVE TEA CUPS PARTY!

Good Morning Ladies!  Happy Tea Cup Tuesday No 191! Running a little late, as you can see.  You ladies are ready to go on Monday!  I love that about you.  It seems like the minute Halloween passes, the time just goes on super speed.  Our lives become filled with parties and decorating, not to mention Christmas shopping.  I am still trying to meet my goal of finishing it by the end of November.  I think I have a 50 / 50 chance.  My
December calendar is already filled with fun things that need to be celebrated.  Too fun!

While we are talking about fun, let's start with our Tea Cups.  I love demitasse tea cups. I think they look so delicate and beautiful.  To be honest for the longest time, I never used them, too small.  I have discovered a wonderful way to show them off and making them a part of the room decor.  I use them as tea lights.  They are a perfect size and look wonderful!

With that thought in mind I would like to show you this first tea cup.  It is a Wales China demitasse, hand painted in Japan.  This cup is so ornate with teal beading around the couple.  Pictures do not do this cup justice.

The next cup is RW, Made in Germany, US Zone 42.  The gold gilt on this cup is amazing.

The last cup I am sharing is the Elegant Fostoria, Fairfax pattern. It is a beautiful topaz color.  This too, is a demitasse cup.

As you can probably tell, I finally have my home together. Just in time to tear it up for Christmas decoration, something I love to do.  You may start seeing hints next week. (Sorry!) Lots of parties to get ready for.

This is the last week for you to join the 900 plus followers give away.  Please let me know if you are interested.  Extra chances by commenting on Pretty Vintage Things and my Facebook page.  Winner to be announce next week!

For you prayer warriors,  please keep my son, Kyle, in your prayers for the next five weeks.  He is taking an intensive for Paramedics.  He really needs to past this class to get his State Cert.  He has to pass it with a B or better.  (You don't want someone with a "C" trying to save your life!  Thank you so much.

Keep your fingers crossed about the Linky. Hugs, Martha

TEA CUP TUESDAY WITH A GIVE AWAY 900 PLUS FOLLOWERS!

Hello Ladies: Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday No. 190! I am also celebrating over 900+ followers. Who would have ever thought? This simple little blog about tea cups, jewelry, decorating and Grandchildren would have that many followers. Thank you dear ladies for your faithfulness and friendship. You have seen me in the good times, the bad times and the ugly times. You are all so very special to me. As many of you know, I have been have troubled with my Tea Party link. Blogger just seems to not want to accept it. I am going to try once again to join up with Terri, but if I can't, please take the time to sign in with both of us. I know that is one extra step for you, but Terri and I are still committed to do this party together. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

With Halloween behind us, it is time to start thinking Thanksgiving and Christmas. I will be hosting my first Christmas party on the first week of Christmas. So don't be surprised if Christmas decorations come early this year. My home is almost normal. One chandelier is up, one more to go. Curtain are up, a little unsure that they might just look a bit to feminine. Please give me your opinion. The guys here have not even noticed. Sound familiar?

It is so wonderful to know where my tea cups are, in the various colors! I can't begin to tell you how freeing that is. I also have a large pile of items I have begun to put up on Pretty Vintage Things! So very proud of this woman. Who says hoarders can't change? Not me! Here is my first tea cup for this week. It was so much fun to open boxes and find beautiful things, I had completely forgot about. This cup is all gold. It is made in Bavaria, Germany. The gold is brilliant and make this cup that much more special.

The next two cups are demitasse, Castleton tea cups. Notice the pretty design of each of the cups as well as the floral design details on the other one. I must have had these cups for over 30 years. My husband purchased them up for me in Oceanside, CA. There was a set of 12 full size for each design. I have since sold them, and only kept one of each to remind me of the moment.

In honor of 900 plus followers, I am having a give away! The give away is this Hammersley Tea Cup Set, made exclusively for Princess House. In order to win, you must leave a comment here. For extra chances please comment on my Facebook page. I will run this for two weeks. Good luck.

My last picture is of my daughter Vanessa. She truly is a Wonder Woman and I am so proud of her.

Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Martha
