CELEBRATING FAMILY & TEA CUPS

Hello Ladies: Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday, No. 73! Hope you all had a wonderful week and looking forward to sharing all your beautiful tea cups. My week was non-stop, ending with a visit to the San Diego Zoo with the Grandchildren. I am exhausted, but it was worth it just to see their happy faces. Both children got their face painted, which was the highlight of the Zoo trip for them. It was the first time in years that our entire grow up children were able to vacation together. I was so happy that we could do that. The last picture on this post is of my three grown children.

This week I am sharing tea cups I have not shown you before, I think! Like I said, I am getting ready for a rather large tea party for my daughter. Every table is going to be a different color so I am looking at my whole tea cup collection. I have tea cups I have forgotten about, so it has been fun to do this. The first cup I am going to show you is a green depression glass. I love the shape of the cup and the delicate design on the glass.

The second cup is Old Ivory, Syracuse China, the "Coralbel Pattern." It has a real 50's look. It is trimmed in platinum and is American made. Older American made tea cups were commonly trimmed in platinum.

My next tea cup is a vintage Coalport, Bouillon Soup Cup & Saucer. The pattern name is "Indian Tree". It has a scallop edges, although because of the pattern it is hard to see. Very Old World looking. I have this in a regular tea cup, but I just love the way this Bouillon Cup looks.

This last cup is a Royal Worcester, the Blind Earl, raised design cup and saucer. The colors on this cup are amazing. Just look at the saucer! I wish I had more, but they are so expensive. I can't remember when or where I purchased this. This cup is one of my favorites of all time.

Did I ever tell you I collect vintage, hand painted, Tole Trays? Well I do, I have them all over the house. Here are a few I have gathered for you to look at.

Here is Mr. Linky. Please visit Terri to see what she has brought back for her wonderful vacation. I am excited to see her treasures.

As promised, a picture of all my children. Thank you so much for your faithfulness to this party. Each week is more wonderful than the last. Please don't forget to take a peek at my website. A preview is on the slide show at the top of the blog.

They are so beautiful, inside and out! Have a great week. Hugs, Martha

Looks like a wonderful family outing with your sweet children and grandchildren. I also have two daughters and a son (28, 26 & 23), plus three grandkids.

Beautiful cups again today. I love the Blind Earl teacup and the wonderful bracelet (or is it a choker?). The tole trays are great too.

I enjoyed seeing ahd hearing about you zoo trip and family. You have a great looking family.

I love the green depression glass cup. I have my mothers pink depression glass. I remember Easter mom would always pull out her depresion glass for us to eat Easter Dinner on. Was the only time of the year they were used.

I am doing a table at our senior center for a tea party we will be having the end of Sept. and am going to use some of moms depression glass. I am excited over this , first as I never have done such a think and secondly I thinki it was an honor that they asked me to help by doing one of the tables.

Hi Martha, What beautiful kids! I have four grown kids and I know they are treasures. They look like they love their mom. :)

I must say I ADORE that green vintage glass! I've always wanted to try and pick some up. What a great idea..every table a different color. I know you have a big collection so I'm sure you could manage that. I certainly couldn't. I do hope you will take pictures!

Thanks for hosting such a lovely tea party.

Hello,
I visited your blog today, and I thought it was so lovely. We are Southern California girls too! I also have three grown children. While I was reading, I noticed that we have alot of the same interests. I love roses, teacups, and scrapbooking. Those green earrings or broche that you have shown is beautiful. I love all the cameos. Me and my daughters just started a new blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would really enjoy coming back to visit with another So. Cal. gal and looking at all your unique and wonderful treasures. Hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day.

Hi, Martha!
To find anything American made is a gem, and your cup is very pretty.

I like both handles on the soup cup, and think it would be fun to drink from a cup that had two handles.

Your children and grandchildren are beautiful! Thank you for sharing their photos.

I love vintage porcelain boxes and kitchen towels...your store is set up very nicely.

Enjoy the day,
Marianne

Hi Martha! What a great family! I believe your Corabel is what my grandmother's dishes were (she bought all new furniture, etc., at some point). I have the set now, so will have to give it a good look. It's modern, isn't it! Bess
