A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME!

Welcome, my friend, Sares, is have a party about your name. My name is Martha, you remember Martha in the Bible? She was the one that was always worried about everything. Is the house clean, are my guest being taken care of? Do we have enough food? Does it look good? Well, that is me in a nut shell. However, a strange thing happened during the name giving. I got a middle name of Mary. You know Mary, she is the one that Jesus said, "has chosen the right thing to do". Which was just sitting at the Lord feet. I always want to be Mary, but I get stuck in Martha. It feels like a bad joke sometimes. It is so interesting to me how your name can become prophetic. In the photo with Noah and I, I am feeling like a Mary. Noah, has shown me how to find the Mary in my life. Something I have to work hard on being Mary. Sitting at the feet of Jesus, waiting on Him to take care of me. Martha is just too easy to fall back on. Who are you? A Martha or a Mary? Blessings to you, Martha aka: Mary

Hi Martha,

Thank you for visiting me! I fear I am a Martha too, although my sister Mary is totally a Mary . . . . funny, Marsha, Martha, only one letter different . . . .

Have a wonderful evening!

Hugs,
Marsha

Martha Mary, I think you worry too much. I think the good Lord loves you just the way you are, a little mix of both! I think I'm more of a Martha as well, I think a Mary is someone we can all aspire to be. Noah has quite the beautiful Biblical name too, you're two peas in a pod! Thank you for joining my party, my friend, it wouldn't be the same without you!

P.S. I'm also going to add your link to Mclinky for you so others can find you easier and will get the chance to read your special story.

Hi, Martha,
I, too, want to be more like Mary, but I am afraid I am more like Martha. As I get older, I am starting to learn to not sweat the little things and just enjoy life more. I have especially enjoyed retired life!! I highly recommend it! Blessings to you! Vicki

I am definitely more of a Martha - my husband would heartily agree! I love the name Martha - I have always loved it. I like old-fashioned names and yours is beautiful. I also think every one of us has two or more sides to our personality - Being Martha/Mary makes sense to me!

I think I am leaving the Martha stage but I'm not sure I'm a Mary either. I've gotten to where I just let everything go and don't worry about a thing. Is that good or bad? It's nice getting to know a little more about everyones name. Blessings to you, :) Tammy

This is an intriguing post about how your inner Mary is emerging.
Maybe I am a blend of each :)

Such a wonderful post Mary (oops, I mean Martha).
Maybe I am both, at moments caring for everyone's physical needs, and then resting to be filled back up with LOVE.

I agree with you ladies. Most of us start out as Martha's but become more like Mary's when we grow older (and wiser ? ;) I Was baptized as Maria too !

Such a lovely post and a wonderful thing to ponder and work on . . . I love that bible story, but it took my a long time to understand it. Thanks.

still recuperating and doing better each day. I go back to work the Monday after Thanksgiving. Thank you for all your blogging friends who wished me well...it worked to a charm. I would like those same people to send prayers and warm fuzzy thoughts to Martha/Mary ,as she has a doctors appointment coming up soon and we want her to get better and healthier...love to all
