SOMETIMES I THINK IF I HAD A BRAIN I WOULD BE DANGEROUS!

Do you remember in my last post I was bragging about how good I felt? I told you I even worked in my yard, something I had not done in a long time. Well, when I worked on my yard I over did it a little bit. I transplanted 3 medium size trees! (I don't fool around when I do yard work!) My knees were a little sore, to be expected, nothing I could not live with.

I took Noah to a pumpkin patch, which he hated and was glad to wave good bye. What I did not tell you was during my weekend of running a muck, I purchased a desk. It is much smaller than the desk I have now. My brilliant thought was, I would be forced to file my papers away, in stead of just letting them pile up on one side of the desk. Good idea so far, right? What I did not notice was, this desk had the opening for the knees on the opposite side of the other one. Big mistake, on Monday morning, I was going to post before I started my day. As I hurried to start, I banged my knees on the drawers, real hard. It made me cry, of course, I am a cry baby. But onward Christian Solder right?

I watch Noah on Monday, so off I went to pick up my Sunshine. He and I went to breakfast. As I was getting up from the table to remove him from his chair, when something snapped in my knee! I tried not to scream because, my daughter was there and I did not want to upset her. So, like a fool, I pretended all was well. By the time I got home, my knee looked like it had doubled in size. Today, it is filled with water, again, and it is killing me. Which means, I will be stuck in bed until I can get it to work well again.

So that's what I have been up to! Some people never learn. I am so upset at myself! Anyway ladies, I did take some pictures before I went brain dead. Hope you like them. Don't forget to comment, every comment give you a chance for a shot at the give away! Blessings to you! Martha

Auw that sounds bad, but I completely understand the overdoing part, I have those days too. You know, that's why pain was invented, to let us know when we go to far...
Take care !

Martha ~ Please take care as these injuries take a good while to repair themselves. Been there, done that, IT HURTS!!!! I don't know how NOT to overdue it either, my friend. TY for popping over today, Martha. Hugs, TTFN ~Marydon

Oh Martha! You have really had a tough time. You need to stop and rest and give your body time to heal! So sit back with a cup of tea and a good book or the television and REST.

Oh no! It sounds like you may be out of commission for a while. I think it's all downhill after 30-we just start falling apart at the seams! I hope your knee heals quickly and take something for the pain-d not continue to tough it out! By the way, do you have a laptop so you can blog while resting your knee? HEE HEE HEE!

Martha, You didn't want your daughter to worry? Goodness! You are a brave lady! I had a partial knee replacement due to a compression fracture 7 years ago (from a accident), it's not bad today but boy! I remember all that rehab. The shaking and sweating you see on T.V. in the endurance true stories? Yep, all real. Take care of your joints, they are what supports your main frame.
Noah is just adorable in the pumpkin patch! Even tho he didn't have a good time he is very photogentic.

Dear Martha, so sorry about your knee. I know how that is as I had knee surgery in 8th grade. When I was 12, I hit a rock while on a skateboard and landed knee first. My knee was filled with water and it took me some time for my parents to realize I actually had a problem. Ever since, my knees pop out of place, I can't swivel or turn fast, and when it pops out now, the pain is unbearable. It's that scene of "I've fallen and I can't get up" until the pain subsides. I've had to have fluid and blood drained from it some years back. So I am careful, very careful now about my knees. Isn't it amazing how we always manage to hit them and when we change something, it's always the one thing we don't want to happen that does. You rest, take care and don't do too much until it has time to heal itself. I wish I could have gone to the pumpkin patch -- I would have liked it. HA! Kids are so funny at that age. Never know what they may or may not like! Take care! :) Tammy

As soon as I finished reading your post , I said a prayer for you. I do hope you are feeling better soon. Do you have someone else who can plant trees for you and do heavy lifting etc.? I wonder why Noah did not like the pumpkin patch?
Blessings and prayers!

Love your newest photos. I can definately relate to the knee. I've had a floating knee cap for over 30 years. Still got cartilidge, so they say hold off til I'm older for a replascement. It aches constantly, pops out of joint at the most inoprotune moments...just a literal pain forever. Well, this past June I was out in the gravel driveway.....yes you guessed it...down I go smack in the middle of the knee. Like you, My Dad saw me go down, so up I pop fine as a fiddle and it bends quite nicely. Get home no pain in the leg at all. It's numb from the ankle to 2" above the knee.
Today I am nursing a deeply bruised muscle and pinched nerves. Still no feeling around the kneecap, but man the huge charlie horse from the muscle. I take a lot of Tylenol, but I refuse to take the heavy stuff until absolutely necessary. My motto..if it ain't fallin off it's fine. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Oh dear Martha.... I am so sorry for you as I know how painful a knee injury is.
I fell down a ladder once as a small girl and took ages to heal.

Do rest and take it easy and I hope that you are feeling better soon.

Healing hugs
Carolyn
