Tomorrow is Monday and the week starts again. We are already into the second week of a New Year, can you believe it? So much has changed and yet so much feels the same. I have been out in my yard this week. For me that is always a good sign. I feel the presence of the Lord in my garden. Like the old church hymn "In the Garden". He walks with me and He talks with me and He tells me I am His own. That is how it makes me feel. I am in rose pruning mode. I have so many, my goal is to have them done by the end of the month.

Spent a lot of time with Noah this weekend and I will have him tomorrow. We went to Descanso Gardens on Saturday, it is right by my home and he rode the train. He was so happy, it made my heart glad. That is so easy to do with Noah.

I have so many projects going, I need to finish. Please pray that I stay focused. It seems I start one thing and see something else that needs to get done while I am working on the first project, so I do that and go back to the first. It is a never ending for me. Does anyone else do that? Currently, working on taxes and my guest room, plus I promised to sew some curtains for my daughter. I better get in gear, they are not going to sew themselves.

Here are a few more pictures of more changes inside my home. Hope you do not mind the hymn, I like so many different kinds of music. Sometimes nothing says it better than an old hymn. The song reminds me of my Mother-in-Law, Twila, it was her favorite. I have been missing her a lot these days.

Don't forget, my give away. What to do is in the post below. I am going to do the 100 things about me, in honor of my 1 year anniversary post. Hope I don't lose you all, after I write it! Have a great week! Blessings, Martha

Martha, your comment on my food/cooking blog made me smile☺ You just go right ahead and learn to cook. It is one of my life's greatest pleasures to share good food with family and friends.

And, yes, my ♥ does hurt when I think of the love I have for my grandchildren. I thought that I loved my children but those little ones, seven of them, bring me such joy and happiness - well, it is immeasurable. You are a lady that knows my soul.

What I wouldn't GIVE to be in "the garden". Ours is frozen over and the ground is as hard as a rock. One day this week it is suppose to get to 55 degrees. I'm so excited. Then we have frigid temps again.

I'm trying to LOVE all of God's beautiful seasons this year and not worry so much about rushing through life. So, I'm taking the frosty, freezing days as they come in hopes I will be blessed all the more when the flowers start blooming.

I only have Miss K right now. I wonder if I'll ever have any more. I hope so. I hope one day their sweet little faces will see the light of day.

Love to you~Rebecca

Your house looks like it's full of crisp glittery icicles with all your pretty crystal around. I am happy to hear you are enjoying your time in your garden. It looks like Noah was having a terrific time on his train ride. Have a great day tomorrow and I hope you continue to feel well!

Aloha Martha,
Thank you for your thoughts in the Garden today. I too love the Garden and all it offers. It is a spiritual place, I think I often feel like I am bareroot in my own garden the middle of summer when I should be bursting with flowers and foliage. I know those feelings are often spurred by negative trying to ware me down. How beautiful our own gardens are and it is with our eyes looking up that we will see their true beauty.
I hope your week is with beauty and peace.
Aloha wishes from across the sea

I love your favorite things too:)

Everything looks lovely, Martha. You are an amazing lady. Yeah, I start projects and then don't finish right away, too. But there's always hope. Take care, Martha, and have a wonderful day with Noah. Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com

Hello, Martha! How are you today? Yes, I do the same thing - I start one thing and my attention goes in another direction and first thing you know, I'm working on something else! Your home looks beautiful - as always. I so look forward to the days I can be back out in my garden.

Lovely treasures and Noah is adorable. I bought a flat of pansies over the weekend and plan to get them into the ground today if possible. I love hymns too ... often find myself humming them. When I notice and stop to think of the words, it's amazing to me how often the message is precisely what I needed to hear.
Hugs and blessings,

Martha,
Love all your pretty silver things. Especially that lamp. I love this old hymn , it is one of my favorites. I used to jump back and forth on things. But I practice staying focused now. I have taken the calender and written on it what I hope to accomplish in each month.
Blessings always!

I am forever going from one thing to the next and then never remember where I started. I cannot believe it is already the middle of January. Time just escapes me these days and I seem to be behind in everything, especially visiting special ladies like you. You always have such wonderful things to share. Happy pruning and sewing. Blessings, Tammy

Thank you, Martha, for playing this wonderful song on your blog....In the Garden. How I love this song. Alan Jackson does a great job on it, too.
Such comfort these old hymns bring - the memories...I think one of the number one things I'm looking forward to Heaven for is that we can sing together all the time in good old-fashioned harmony these songs that have comforted us thru life. Since I don't go to church anymore I really miss the singing. My dad was a preacher and us little preacher's kids were brought up singing and harmonizing together all these wonderful hymns.
