TEA CUP TUESDAY NO. 163! SPRING IS IN THE AIR!
Ladies: Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday No. 163! We are all breathing a lot easier since last week. It seems like anything that could happen to this beautiful Country of ours, did. Those two young men who did that awful thing in Boston, looked like kids. It is hard to imagine they could do such a horrible thing. Lives wasted and for what? Pure evil. Glad it is over! Nothing can stop this Country, we survive!
I have decided to do some serious spring cleaning. I need to make space for my son's new Fire Fighter Gear. Believe me when I say that is not easy to do in this house. Two large bags going to the Goodwill and a bin full of new things for my store. I cleared about one quarter of the closet today, still have a long way to go, but it's a start. I am so proud of myself. You can even imagine how hard it is for me to do this much clearing out.
I am ready to show you some fun cups this week. This first on is a Mikasa, Terrace Bloom. I don't know if you know this, but I collect dish sets. Shocking, I know. I have two sets of everyday dishes, one is a Mikasa. They are strong and beautiful and easy to use everyday. I think this cup was intended more for coffee. It is so pretty.
This next cup is a Hammersley & Co. You can always tell a Hammersley by the fine quality of the piece. This one is a demitasse cup. Love the thumb rest on this one. I had a boss years ago that was trying to cut down on his coffee. He would always use demitasse cups for his coffee. It was funny to see a big guy with this tiny little cup of coffee, but it worked for him.
The last cup is my favorite this week. It is a MZ Austria antique tea cup & saucer. The pattern name is Julie. It has a Art Deco design, with a delicate rose design. Very pretty. Looking forward to visiting you all this week. Terri has some stunning tea cups to share this week and a give away! Wishing you God's best! Martha

Very lovely Martha! All your cups are special. I love the shape of the Hammersley too.
It is hard clearing out, but they say it helps you bring more good in.
Yay!
Hugs,
Terri

I especially like your Mikasa cup & saucer. The little blue blossoms caught my eye.
I love reading your posts. I think you reveal a lot about yourself in the way you write and I can picture you cleaning out your closet to make room for your son's gear. Maybe even grumbling a little bit about how much stuff you must clear out, all the while so proud of your son and happy to make room for him.
Thank-you Martha for hosting this tea time on Tuesdays. I now consider it a weekly ritual I look forward to. Often I plan my tea parties or luncheons around this day.
Martha all your teacups are lovely!! I especially loved seeing your Mikasa, Terrace Bloom .... thank you for sharing such loveliness ..Blessings,C> (HHL)
Good morning dear Martha,
Your teacups are lovely. Hard to pick a favourite but I do love the last one, Julie. I really like the shape of the Hammersley as well. You have such a wonderful collection of teacups. Thanks for sharing and I wish you an incredible week of happiness.

Sandi

I love all your pretty cups and saucers but the Mikasa china is a lovely design. I also like the Hammersley quality but they always have wonderful designs and the bone china is beautiful. Your art deco cup is so deleicate and thin. Hope your cleaning and sorting is easily completed and I am also into sorting and packing which seems slower the more mature I get! Hope your son is enjoying his new job and have a great week!

I love your little Austrian tea cup Martha it often reminds me of Limoges.
Thank you for hosting!

As always, just lovely.
Your story about your boss drinking from a demitasse cups and things seeming so out of proportion makes me think of the men I see around my town all dressed in their suits early in the morning and walking some tiny white dog! Again, a chuckle on the proportions!

Hello Martha! Your teacups are beautiful and the one with the rose design is my favorite too, lovely!
I understand you with your spring cleaning, it's very dificult for me let things go too.
Thank you very much for hosting!
Besos!
Dear Martha,
I imagine how hard it will be for you to give the space of your china collection to fire guns. Your tea cups are so nice, especially the last one. Thank you so much for sharing your treasures and for hosting this sweet event.
Best greetings, Johanna
Lovely post, Martha. Love the Hammersley!
Hello Martha,
Lovely Spring inspired tea post - your teacups speak beautifully of Spring. My son still has some firefighter gear here from when he was a volunteer years back. Bulky and heavy! Do provide a place on a side porch or something, when he returns and they may have smoke smell - you'll want to air them out! I appreciate you and Terri hosting, have a blessed day!

I just hate cleaning out! Sounds like you have a good reason. Love all your cups and everything is just so pretty as always. Such a treat to visit.
Hi Martha,
Thank you for dropping by my blog! I will surely enter you in the drawing.
God bless!

Hello Dear Martha...Oh, I am JUST like you. I cannot bear to part with treasures but I know I must.
This house has corners that are wayyyyyy too cluttered.
You have given me inspiration.
Take care and thanks for sharing your lovely cups. Susan
