Hello my tea cup loving friends! Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday No. 70. Hope you are all doing well this week. I had one of those weeks, where I felt like I just should have stayed in bed. My Homeowners Insurance sent me a "Notice of Cancellation" because, my home is now considered in a "Wild Fire" area. I was re-classified because of the big "Station Fire", we had a couple of years ago. In order to be reinstated, I have to have my chimmey up graded, the brush cut back, just of name a few things on their list. I live in Earthquake Country, do you know how hard it is to get insurance anyway? So, I have that to deal with. Next, my air conditioning in my car breaks, followed by my washing machine, and stove (not finished yet). My son, who has lost his pay check, goes to get his oil changed. What should have been a $25 job is now $110, because he waited too long to change his oil. Of course, he did not have $110, he lost his pay check. He was getting ready to leave for Las Vegas, something that had been planned for weeks. Today, bless his little heart, he calls me collect, because he locked his cell phone in the hotel room safe, so he would not lose it. (He has a bad habit of losing things.) "Good move!" you say! Well, he has lost the group he is with and of course, no phone. So he wants me to call his friends so they can meet up. Bless his little heart, at least he is having a good time! He could have called me from Vegas with far worse news! So count your blessings, Martha!

Let's talk about tea cups, it is far more fun subject. This first group is a "Mud Pie". I purchased these pieces a year ago and have forgotten to show them to you. They are not bone china, however, the pieces are so delicate and dainty. Notice the cute little tea strainer. I need to look for the Tea pot to make the set complete.

The next cup is a Betty Platner, Porcelain Treasures. A gift from my dear Mother. I love the little legs it stands on.

The next cup I would like to share is a T. Limoges, France. It is a demitasse cup. It feels very heavy for a Limoges, which is quite different, Limoges cups are usually so light to the touch. It is beautiful. The design is hand painted. Very lovely, like all Limoges cups.

This last cup is was Made in England. I purchased four of them a couple of years ago. I don't believe the saucer is a match for the cup, but I liked how it looked and the price was right. They are demitasse.

Here is this week's Mr. Linky, if I am not mistaken, it is coming from England where my friend Terri is roughing it, as we speak! Can't wait to see her tea cups!

Thank you for letting me share my week with you. Just so you know, I have had a great day today! Repairmen will be here Tuesday for everything. Please pray it is enough for the insurance company to keep me. I also want to thank you for shopping at Pretty Vintage Things, as you can tell, I need the money this week :)! Remember, discounts are available only for followers! Hugs, Martha

Hi Martha,
It does seem that when it rains it pours but at least you can work your way through all these problems. Insurance companies are such a crock!

Love that little tea strainer with the one cup and the feet on the other.

Hope you are well! Wishing you abundant blessings, Tammy

Oh, Martha,....what a week! When it rains, it pours, eh? I have had a similiar situation the whole of 2011! In June my husband listed off the 'catastophes' we have had monthly and I told him it's got to stop soon! Mixed in are blessings, so we try to stay focused on those. Nice blog, love your teacups. Thanks for visiting my blog too. :)

I'm so sorry about your insurance. We were cancelled because of the So. Cal fires too, and not even given the option to upgrade anything. I hope all works out well for you.
Your teacups and set are lovely. Thank you for hosting.

Oh, Martha,
I am so sorry about all that is going on and I will pray for you! That is overwhelming.
I adore your three pink rose cups of various types. They are all beautiful in their own way. I would not be able to choose a favorite but I am fascinated with the little legs on the middle one. I have never seen anything like that!
This is only my second tea cup tuesday. I would love to have you visit if you have time.

Hi Martha!
What an awful week you had!You know what they say: "it never rains but it pours" and it is sometimes true... But I'm sure things will get better for you soon, you deserve it!
Among the beautiful things you posted this week my favourite one is the Limoges hand painted demitasse cup. Those roses in the bouquets and the gold touches make me sigh...
All the best for you and your family!
