TEA CUP TUESDAY, PINK TEA CUP MARKED "666 1/2" SCARY!

Hello Ladies: Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday No. 176, our last one for July. I do believe Terri will be taking the month of August off. She has caught the creative bug so she will direct her attention to many other things. I am sure Terri will share with us all her new creations when she returns. Starting next week, it will just be me, I hope you don't mind. My son, Kyle, sent me this picture last night. He told me not to worry about the fire, he was fine and protecting a small community near Yosemite. "Ok, I won't worry about the fire that is at his BACK!" He is doing what he loves.

I have been at Estate Sales this weekend, too much fun! I will share some of my treasures today, most I will share next week. First, I want to show you the newest Word Scrapbook I finished this week. I am trying very hard to give these as Christmas gifts to those who have not already received a book from me. I purchased this one a few years ago and I am barely getting around to it. Does anyone else do that? I buy things with the best intentions and they just get put aside. I am not sure how much I like working Word Books. I do have one for Noah who loves to be called "Brother." I tend to fill them with embellishments and there is not a lot of room for pictures. Still very undecided about it. I feel like a "scrapbook making machine" right now. I have to work on them while I am in the mood to do them. (Moods can quickly pass!)

I did find a lot of treasures this weekend, like I said. I have been trying very hard to thin out my tea cup collection. When I saw this one I just had to get it and the price was perfect $3. It is not marked, I believe it maybe German, but not sure. It does have incised on the bottom the numbers 666 1/2. A little weird, might have not purchased it if I had noticed before. I could not get a good picture of the mark. The cup looks like it has blue jewels all around it.

I am sharing a few similar cups today. As I was pulling them out, I realized I have a few more than I thought in this style. I must be attracted to this type of cup. This next one is a mustache cup. I love this cup, one, because it is so beautiful and two because it is a "pink mustache" cup. I love men in mustaches but I have trouble seeing a guy using this cup.

Cup No. 3 is a "Forget Me Not" cup in that same style. This one is a little heavier that the first two, but special just the same.

I am excited because I was, once again asked to contribute to the Shabby Lane Shops Magazine. You can get a copy by visiting the shops or emailing me. I am their "want to be" thrift store decorator! I have also been features in their Shabby Lane Marketplace Virtual Vendors Show. It is a nationwide, virtual shopping mall. Please check it out here. I would love for you to visit! http://www.shabbylaneshops.com/pages/marketplace.htm

Here is this week's picture of Noah & Sophia. I will show you more treasures I got next week.

Here is the linky. Have a wonderful week! Blessings, Martha

I don't own any teacups like these with the raised dimensional work. They are lovely!

Hi Martha,
Your moustache cup put a smile on my face :) I love it, but you're right, in that colour it doesn't seem to be fit for a man... with a moustache!!!
Maybe for bearded women?! LOL
Thanks for hosting and sharing your beauties, specially those two sweet things in the last photo :)
Hugs

LOL - the pink mustache cup - who came up with THAT idea! But the jeweled cup was quite the work of art. I don't know that I'd ever actually drink from it. Always a surprise when Martha posts teatime!
Blessings!

Perhaps that pink mustache cup was owned by a Bearded Lady in a circus sideshow. Some manufacturers cater to niche markets, LOL!

Hello Dear Martha,
Oh my! That is a scary picture! But just look at that grin on his face! Pure joy! He is doing what he loves, and what more can we ask for our children. All his angels with him each and every day! : )
Your cups today are very sweet, and yes I too see the similarities. They are very romantic, frilly and sweet. Great price for your new cup!
Your book is fabulous! Oh I love your work! I am sure your loved ones will be thrilled with them.
Have a fantastic August!

Terri

You certainly were fortunate to find all the pretty cups and saucers. I love estates sales and I also went to two this weekend and was successful, too. I scored two pool side chaise loungers for my son's house for $10 each. Your son is a very special person to be a fire fighter. Have a great time with your cute grandkids.

Oh my GOSH, Martha. Kyle is a very handsome man. What a smile! WOWSERS. (Is he married? ha haha Must have tons of girls after him.)

Loved the possibly German tea cup. What do those numbers signify, do you think? Strange. But it's a keeper.

Love looking at all your treasures. Susan

Martha, your tea cups absolutely blow me away! I'm always astounded at such lovelies that you have, and these are beautiful! $3 for that first one? Unbelievable! Your son is probably having an awesome time. My brother was a City of Cleveland firefighter for 35 years, my son was a Marine Corps firefighter, and I personally know several young men who are firefighters in the Western states, working most often in the National Parks. Perhaps even working on the controlled fire that your son is doing in this photograph. I certainly understand your concern, and my prayers are for him and for you! Love your blog, Martha!

Martha, would you believe my grandchildren's names are Noah and Sophia !

Your scrapbooks look like treasures. Your efforts won't go unnoticed but I understand fleeting moods.

I have got to get off my computer. So much to do and not enough time.

Thanks for your visit.
