THE COLOR PURPLE!

Hello Ladies: Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday No. 109. I am running so late this week. It is almost 9 pm and I am just thinking about the post now. My daughter had surgery today and thank God, everything is fine. I was up at 3:00 am this morning praying for her. A mother never stops worrying about her children no matter how old they get. They are always our little girls. You would be so proud of me, I am exercising. First time in my life, mind you! I have a friend who is a trainer and she is working with me. I had not said anything, because I thought I would have quit already but, I am liking it. I am not very good but it is a start. I know this was from God, because I would have never done it on my own. She asked me! Even my fingers are sore.

I am going to be sharing more purple cups this week. I think they are so sweet looking. I am also sharing some of my "Color Purple" Decor for this month. Did I ever tell you I collect Fenton? Well, you guessed it, I do. These are two very large vases along with a very small one.

This first tea cup is a Royal Albert. The pattern name is "Sweet Violet". I believe it is ca. 1970. It has a beautiful wavy design to it and a delicate handle. Just perfect for an afternoon cup of tea.

Cup number 2 is a demitasse cup. It is a numbered, vintage, Lenox. I just love the look of this cup. Really the pictures do not do it justice. This cup I believe is circa 1920. It is in perfect condition and just stunning. I have no idea if it came with a saucer. When I purchased it, years ago, it was alone. Isn't it beautiful?

My third cup this week is Staffordshire, England, Royale Garden, Chintz Collection. This cup features a beautiful pale yellow background, very different for Chintz.

This last cup is also a Royal Albert, England. This cup has a very old look to it. Very elegant. The Tea Pot along side it is a double cup Sadler.

Here is Mr. Linky for this week. Both Terri and I thank you for your faithfulness to this Tea Party. We both love to drool over the tea cups. I have put some new tea cups on my website Pretty Vintage Things. Stop by and take a peek! Hugs, Martha

Such lovely purple china, martha!

I am praying for your good health, along with your family. And your excercising - that is GREAT!

Wish we lived near one another, I need to do the same thing. My sister is an aerobics instructor and is ALWAYS on me about not moving enough. She is right.

Love the purple. I may have to do a purple post sometime in future - maybe when my lilacs are in bloom.

God bless!!

The first teacup is unlike any I have ever seen, it is beautiful. You show some of the most unique teacups Martha !

I completely understand what you said about our "little girls". No matter how old they get, they are constantly on our minds, in our hearts, and the mom in us never quits praying our worries away concerning them.I hope she is recovering quickly, and how can she not with her Mom praying for her?

MARTHA, I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!! I can't express to you enough how important it is that we keep moving. I didn't get to link for tea time, because I had jury duty yesterday, but I did do a post this morning about circulation. I hope you find it informative. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! I'm glad that you haven't stopped and so thankful that you have someone to exercise with you. It does make it more enjoyable. Keep it up girl! Thank you, Father, for sending my dear friend, Martha, a workout partner!

You are so right about us mothers. It doesn't matter how old our children get, they will always be our children. You, your daughter (I hope she is doing well), and your family are in my prayers.

Your tea cups are SPLENDID today! I love the color and designs. Your collections are AWESOME! It just must be fabulous growing up in your home. Always seeing some sort of beautiful decoration. Just makes me feel "homey"!!

Stay on that healthy road!
Here's to your health,
Brenda

Martha, I hope your daughter recovers quickly! I am also very proud of you for beginning to exercise. My husband is in out patient therapy from a fall and we are both on his diabetic diet so it's really a life change. I will be thinking and praying for you and your daughter.
The color Purple is so gorgeous from the first plate to all the cups and saucers. I just adore every one of the pieces you presented in your post. I did not know you collected Fenton and the vases are lovely on your mantel. Happy Tea Party! Pam

My Dear Martha, I chuckle when you start a sentence with 'did I tell you I collected...." You are a connoisseur of collectables! Gorgeous purple! You have a rainbow of beauty. I completely understand - we let them go, but still hold them close in our hearts and rejoice knowing God loves them all the more!
Thanks for hosting and for sharing with A Return to Loveliness,
Kathy

Good morning, Martha. I noticed you didn't get to post a new tea time, so I hope that all is well with you and your family. You all are in my prayers. I know you must be very busy taking care of your daughter and grandchildren, but do remember your own health. Take some some to move around or get in a little exercise each day. I just want to say I missed you and am looking forward to your next post.
HUGS and God Bless,
Brenda
