TEA CUP TUESDAY, PINK TEA CUP MARKED "666 1/2" SCARY!

Hello Ladies: Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday No. 176, our last one for July. I do believe Terri will be taking the month of August off. She has caught the creative bug so she will direct her attention to many other things. I am sure Terri will share with us all her new creations when she returns. Starting next week, it will just be me, I hope you don't mind. My son, Kyle, sent me this picture last night. He told me not to worry about the fire, he was fine and protecting a small community near Yosemite. "Ok, I won't worry about the fire that is at his BACK!" He is doing what he loves.

I have been at Estate Sales this weekend, too much fun! I will share some of my treasures today, most I will share next week. First, I want to show you the newest Word Scrapbook I finished this week. I am trying very hard to give these as Christmas gifts to those who have not already received a book from me. I purchased this one a few years ago and I am barely getting around to it. Does anyone else do that? I buy things with the best intentions and they just get put aside. I am not sure how much I like working Word Books. I do have one for Noah who loves to be called "Brother." I tend to fill them with embellishments and there is not a lot of room for pictures. Still very undecided about it. I feel like a "scrapbook making machine" right now. I have to work on them while I am in the mood to do them. (Moods can quickly pass!)

I did find a lot of treasures this weekend, like I said. I have been trying very hard to thin out my tea cup collection. When I saw this one I just had to get it and the price was perfect $3. It is not marked, I believe it maybe German, but not sure. It does have incised on the bottom the numbers 666 1/2. A little weird, might have not purchased it if I had noticed before. I could not get a good picture of the mark. The cup looks like it has blue jewels all around it.

I am sharing a few similar cups today. As I was pulling them out, I realized I have a few more than I thought in this style. I must be attracted to this type of cup. This next one is a mustache cup. I love this cup, one, because it is so beautiful and two because it is a "pink mustache" cup. I love men in mustaches but I have trouble seeing a guy using this cup.

Cup No. 3 is a "Forget Me Not" cup in that same style. This one is a little heavier that the first two, but special just the same.

I am excited because I was, once again asked to contribute to the Shabby Lane Shops Magazine. You can get a copy by visiting the shops or emailing me. I am their "want to be" thrift store decorator! I have also been features in their Shabby Lane Marketplace Virtual Vendors Show. It is a nationwide, virtual shopping mall. Please check it out here. I would love for you to visit! http://www.shabbylaneshops.com/pages/marketplace.htm

Here is this week's picture of Noah & Sophia. I will show you more treasures I got next week.

Here is the linky. Have a wonderful week! Blessings, Martha

Christmas in July Tea Cups!

Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday, No. 175 !  What an exciting week!  The world got a new "Prince" and I got a new great nephew! He was born on the same day and almost at the same time England's Prince was born.  I will get to hold him in a few hours.  Issac C. Hess came into the world today making my sister a Grandma for the first time.  Here is a sneak peek at the perfect boy!

Today in blogland, we are celebrating "Christmas in July" tea cups with Sandi.  I am sharing a couple of my favorites with you today. First I want to show you the new Altered Scrapbook I am working on.  It fits in perfectly with today's Christmas theme.  I really want to give these books away for Christmas. I have started early in order to get everything done. Wish me luck.  What do you think?  This one is very different from the one I showed you last week. I am not quite done yet, but you can see how it its taking shape. I have a lot more embellishments to add.   If you have any questions on how to make these, just email me. I can walk you through it.

Now, for our first Christmas in July Tea cup. When I decided to join this party I thought how very fun to share Christmas Tea Cups early.  I forgot one thing, I have all my Christmas Tea Cups in a storage unit.  It is a big thing to get into it and look through the endless boxes. I was lucky enough to find two that for some reason, missed the storage unit.  This first one is English, made by Duchess China.  I just love the colors on this one. It is almost fall colors instead of winter. Very cute, one of my favorites. (I have a lot of favorites!)

This second one is a Made in America piece.  It is called "Old Ivory" by Syracuse China.  This is a very elegant tea cup and comes with a dessert plate.  I have only recently began to purchase tea cups with dessert plates.  I don't know what I was thinking before.  They are so much easier to use when you add something sweet.

I am still learning how to do things on my new computer.  I like how I can make the pictures large.  I can see them better.  I just have to show you a picture of Noah and Sophia.  They were sailing this past week. Noah, looks like a pro!

Terri and I are so grateful that you continued to join us each week.  This week I am linking up with Sandi at http://sandimyyellowdoor.blogspot.com.  Looking forward to seeing all your wonderful cups.

Blessings, Martha

TEA CUPS, SCRAPBOOKS AND ESTATE SALE FINDS!

Welcome Tea Cup Tuesday No. 175! Our summer is going by so fast. Before I share some tea cups, I would like to show you a baby scrapbook I just finished. I made this fun book for my nephew, who will be having his first baby this month. It includes some pre-baby pictures as well as room for new ones. This is my fourth scrapbook in 2 months, I have been on a roll. I have just started a new one today. I am working on Christmas gifts, and at the same time, clearing out photos.

This week end while I was out and about, I found the most beautiful coffee table. Although I love the coffee table I have, it is too large. This is the second one I have purchased for this spot, however, my daughter took the other one and now she is taking my old Queen Anne for her future home. This new table is about 1 1/2' shorter and fits so much better. It was a steal. I am so pleased with how it looks. What do you think?

Now for the tea cups. This first one is one from Italy. It is hand blown and painted, so very pretty.

Cup No. 2 is a Royal Albert. Pattern name is "Forget Me Not."

The last cup I want to share is a Mikasa. It is one of my favorite china makers. It is strong and very practical. The pattern name is "Arbor Terrace Bloom."

Had to show you a picture of Sophia and I. She just wanted her Grandma. Can you tell how much I am enjoying her? I was so tempted to photoshop my wrinkles off. They are what they are. I feel so much younger than what I look like. :) Have a wonderful week. Terri and I look forward each week to visiting all the wonderful places you take us too. I am so early, not sure why! Blessings, Martha

TEA CUPS COMING UP ROSES!

Welcome to Tea Cup Tuesday No. 174! Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July holiday and that the weather is getting better for you. So. Cal is going through another heat wave. I am really not a heat person. I prefer the cooler weather, can't wait until this passes. It has been a crazy week here. My Grandson, Noah, decided it would be good to go visit his cousins in Idaho with his Nana. The plan was for him to stay 10 days and Nana would bring him home. Well, it just did not work out that way, after 3 days, he missed his Mama and wanted to come home. So Monday has been spent trying to get Dad to Idaho to pick up Noah. He did stay 3 days and I am very proud of him for that. I am even more proud of my son in law, who had no problem, just going to get his son and bringing him home. It will be a very expensive 3 day visit for the family. (Don't tell anyone but, I missed him so, I am glad he is coming home.) His Nana wishes he would have stayed longer. I have a perfect fix for this, just have her move back to So. Cal. Sounds good to me, and everyone wins. I can share! Here he is eating ice cream which seems to have made things better.

Here is my first cup for this week. It is a Stanley, from England. I love the large roses on this. The inside of this tea cup is a very pale pink. This is one of the first few tea cups that I purchased when I was just starting my collection. So glad to own it.

Cup No. 2 is a Foley also from England. Aren't the roses in the middle just stunning? This too is a cup I have had for years. I forget about it, so glad I remembered she was mine today.

I am making this post short because my Fireman is home. I have not got to see him much this past month and a half. It feels good just to have him home with me. I will be posting later on this week as I will be a part of the the "Where Bloggers Create" 2013 Party. I have joined this fun party every year. It is always fun to see the wonderful and creative spaces. I get so many ideas. My space never looks the same after the party. Have a wonderful week. Blessings, Martha
