TEA CUP TUESDAY NO. 181! HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Welcome ladies to Tea Cup Tuesday No. 181! This is our first Tea Party in September and Terri is back this week. We have all missed her, especially me. I feel like things are back to normal again. I do hope you are all having a wonderful Labor Day Holiday. My air conditioner went out Sunday night and it has been so hot here. I have to wait until Wednesday for someone to come out. I have been busy making scrapbooks and I have been asked to help do another wedding. This wedding is in Big Bear, California. I love helping my friends decorate for events. I will try to get pictures of my work this time. I am struggling with a headache today, so if this post doesn't make a lot of sense, you will know why. (It's the heat, I am sure.)

I have been rearranging my bedroom. This is a picture of what I have over my bed now. The sign was a gift from my daughter. I love it!

I have this wonderful cup to share with you today. First, I want to tell you it is a Shelley. It does not look like a normal Shelly to me. I have taken a picture of the back signature this time. To me it looks very simple and plain for a Shelly. Shelley are usually very elegant. That was the reason I purchased it a few years ago. Tell me what you think. The vintage brooch is made of sterling, however, the very odd part of it is, the rhinestones are plastic. Who can figure things like this out?

Cup No. 2 is a Taylor and Kent. I love the pot-belly shape it has. Really a perfect cup to share some Autumn tea.

This last cup, is a Hart China. It is very thin and fragile. Quite pretty, in a lovely cream color. I am considering putting it up on my web site, Pretty Vintage Things, only because I have so many tea cups. I really am trying to down size, but it is so hard.

Did I ever tell you I collect cottages of all types? Some are teapots, salt & pepper shakers, butter & cheese dishes, others, like these are just figurines. I have put some vintage Suffolk Cottages on my web site because I just have too many of them. I want to start filling my web site, preparing for Christmas. It is just around the corner you know.

These are my grandchildren in there backyard pool. Do you ever wonder how God must feel about us? If we as mere Grandmothers and Mothers can love our child so much that it hurts, how must He feel when he sees us? Does He smile when we just do something cute? I think so! As you can see, Sophia is a shoe girl. She thinks heels are for running. Have a wonderful week. Sending blessings your way. I am very grateful you stuck with me, during Terri's absence. You are the best! Martha

I am partying with these hosts as well~

  15. I know exactly what you mean- to love those kids/grandkids so much it hurts your heart. Aren't we blessed?

I used to collect cottages, too, but had so many that I had to part with some of them. I still have a few packed away that I need to get out and display. Your collection is just gorgeous- xo Diana

  16. Blessings, Martha! Joy to you and all things beauty - which I can see you regularly have your fill of! I have the Shelley cup and love it - such a gentle country scene with fall colors. The pot bellied one actually says "Christmas" to me - perhaps it reminds me of a Christmas ball ornament. Blessings to you and yours!
    Joy!
